Los Angeles Rams Lead 7/1 NFL Accumulator

Another week down, another week closer to the Super Bowl. The Los Angeles Rams, led by the youngest head coach in NFL history Sean McVay, are well on their way to challenging in the playoffs and it is hard to see an upset on the road at the struggling New York Giants. The NFC West side headline my American football accumulator this weekend...

HOUSTON TEXANS vs INDIANAPOLIS COLTS

With DeShaun Watson cruelly ruled out for the rest of the season, Houston will lean on their running game – Lamar Miller could be set for a big couple of months. The Texans have been one of the most exciting teams to watch this year but this is a results business. Winning the AFC South is the main objective and trusting this Texans defence may be the way to go.

By the same token, Andrew Luck will also sit out the remainder of the 2017 campaign and it would take a brave man to back the Colts right now. Indianapolis have struggled to inspire confidence in recent years and changes may be afoot in the near future. They may keep this one close with Watson out but this one is NOT going to live long in the memory.

TIP: Under 45.5 points @ 10/11

New York Giants vs LOS ANGELES RAMS

Injuries have all but ended New York’s slim hopes of going far this season and Ben McAdoo’s job is certainly on the line. The Giants have shown glimpses of quality but backing New York is almost impossible on current form. Even at MetLife Stadium, you just cannot see the NFC East side winning at this moment in time.

Todd Gurley could be in for a huge game on Sunday afternoon – the Rams running back has been phenomenal so far this year and the Giants may struggle to stop him if he gets going early on. In a year of shocks, Los Angeles’ form may be the biggest of all. Plenty expected the Rams to struggle this year but they are 5-2 on the season; they could record a sixth win here.

TIP: Los Angeles to win @ 13/25

DALLAS COWBOYS vs Kansas City Chiefs

Feed Zeke. That will be Jason Garrett’s message to his Dallas Cowboys offense ahead of this contest – and he could be in for another big day. The Denver Broncos did well to stuff the Dallas running back earlier this season but most franchises have had no answer against his unique running style. Throw Dak Prescott and Dez Bryant into the mix and the Cowboys have the tools to go far this campaign.

The Chiefs had lost two in a row before beating Denver last time out and the AFC West side will be quietly confident of getting the job done here. Defensively, Kansas City are much stronger than Dallas but stopping this Cowboys offense is no easy feat. Alex Smith needs to be 2017 Alex Smith rather than 2016 Alex Smith for Kansas City to stand a chance.

TIP: Dallas to win @ 16/25

Miami Dolphins vs OAKLAND RAIDERS

Miami sent shockwaves across the NFL earlier this week when they opted to trade Pro Bowl running back Jay Ajayi for a fourth round pick in the 2018 Draft. Placing complete faith in Jay Cutler at quarterback might not be the best idea but only time will tell. It is certainly tough to back the Dolphins in this contest given that decision earlier this week; nobody knows how Miami’s offense will respond.

When he’s good, Derek Carr is VERY good. Oakland have been disappointing so far this year but the Raiders should improve in the second half of the season. With so much talent on both sides of the ball, it would be a real shame if Oakland’s poor start has a lasting effect in terms of falling short in the playoff race. The AFC West is still up for grabs and the Raiders aren’t out of it just yet.

TIP: Oakland to win @ 16/25
