With just a few weeks remaining in the 2017/18 Championship season, every match is now crucial. The battle to secure automatic promotion is coming to an end but the relegation fight is still very much alive.

Birmingham City, languishing in the bottom three for most of the campaign, have won three in a row under Garry Monk and the Blues lead our best bets this weekend. Check out our top tips below…

Barnsley have won just once in their previous 13 Championship fixtures and another tough encounter awaits here. The visitors, still well in the playoff hunt, are in decent form and this could get away from the hosts if they fall behind early on.

Goals have been hard to come by for Barnsley this season; only three teams have bagged less goals than the Tykes.

Sheffield United won the corresponding fixture at Bramall Lane – Billy Sharp was the scorer on that day. The Blades will be looking to their main man again this weekend, he is currently priced at 11/5 to score this weekend.

With Leon Clarke also in superb attacking form, Chris Wilder’s men could run riot at Oakwell on Saturday afternoon.

TIP: Sheffield United to win @ 27/20

BIRMINGHAM CITY vs Burton Albion

Monk’s side will be without Che Adams and Sam Gallagher for this weekend’s clash but the Blues still look well placed to emerge victorious.

Birmingham have a new lease of life under Monk and 7/10 isn’t a bad price considering their recent form. Burton have picked up just four points from a possible 21 on the road since mid-January.

The Brewers are in desperate need of a confidence boost and three points here could give Burton the incentive to push on and avoid the drop.

Nigel Clough’s men are eight points behind Birmingham with six games remaining and another defeat here will condemn Burton to life in League One.

TIP: Birmingham City to win @ 7/10

Over 2.5 goals has landed in five of Hull’s previous six league games but I fancy both teams to score. There have been 116 goals in Hull’s 40 Championship matches this season – there have also been 107 in QPR’s 40 league games.

The Tigers have the attacking talent to push anybody close on their day and goals look very likely indeed this weekend.

Weekend Booster

Rangers have failed to score in just one of their previous 11 Championship fixtures; another positive omen for the selection.

QPR don’t have too much to play for in terms of competing for the playoffs but Ian Holloway’s teams have always been entertaining and that remains the same here. 4/5 is a great price; the selection has landed in the last four head-to-heads.

TIP: Both teams to score @ 4/5

Neil Harris’ side have scored in 11 Championship matches in a row – and the playoff-chasing Lions are still well and truly in contention to snatch a playoff spot.

Millwall are unbeaten in 14 second tier fixtures and it would take a brave man to back against them on current form; that is partly why we’ve opted for both teams to score at 22/25.

Bristol City have won just two of their last 11 league games and the visitors may struggle at The Den. In some ways, the Robins have suffered from their incredible run to the Carabao Cup semi-finals; they have now dropped out of the playoff spots.

Bristol need a positive result here and Lee Johnson’s men will be going all out for the victory.

TIP: Both teams to score @ 22/25
