Crystal Palace and Arsenal must wait until Thursday for their first game since Christmas and punters will be expecting a high scoring contest.
The leftover turkey will probably have gone by the time this game gets underway but these two clubs can serve up a festive feast of Premier League action. Neutrals, get ready to buckle in and enjoy what looks like an entertaining top-flight encounter.
Arsenal (3/4 to win) were unbeaten in 14 competitive fixtures against Palace before April’s 3-0 defeat to the Eagles and plenty of punters will be backing the Gunners to emerge victorious here.
Roy Hodgson has had a positive impact at Selhurst Park though and this Palace side should not be dismissed. It could turn out to be a very exciting fixture…
Palace’s Revival Under Hodgson Continues
Fancy the hosts to pick up another positive result here? The 11/10 available for Palace to win OR draw is a decent price, especially on home soil.
Hodgson’s side have been playing exceptionally well in recent weeks and luck is certainly on their side. With a stern effort in defence, the Eagles could end up surprising us all on Thursday night.
Wilfried Zaha’s individual brilliance has been a key reason for Palace’s surge up the Premier League table. The Eagles winger is a 14/5 shot to get his name on the scoreboard here and plenty of punters will fancy Zaha to carry on his rich vein of form.
At the very least, he will be influential in the final third of the pitch and Palace’s frontmen could benefit.
Attacking Brilliance The Difference For Arsenal
The Gunners are capable of flicking a switch and scoring goals for fun – and that is why they are so dangerous.
Arsene Wenger will be wary of Palace’s recent form but if Arsenal play at their brilliant best then this one should be straightforward for the visitors. Take your pick for an anytime goal scorer; I like super sub Olivier Giroud at 59/50.
For me, the 31/20 for Arsenal to score in both halves is an absolute steal. Devastating when at their brilliant best, Wenger’s attack can put Palace to the sword.
Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez are both in fantastic form and Gunners fans will be confident of a much-needed victory. Keeping pace with their rivals is vital for Arsenal over the festive period.
I may be doing Palace a disservice here given their recent form under Hodgson but the Gunners have enough firepower to keep their opponents at bay.
Opting for anything other than an Arsenal win would be foolish – 3/4 is a decent price. Wenger’s side seem to have overcome their away day woes and it could be a happy trip back for the travelling fans...
