Andre Ward is rated a slight favourite at 4/6 to come out on top again in this weekend's eagerly-awaited rematch with Sergey Kovalev.

The 33-year-old American climbed up off the canvas to secure a controversial points win in last November's first encounter, getting the decision 114-113 on all three scorecards.

Many felt that Russian opponent Kovalev had done enough to hold on to his WBA, IBF and WBO light-heavyweight titles, but Ward is confident of enjoying another victory in Las Vegas.

Nicknamed 'Son of God' due to his superb natural talent, Ward believes he can capitalise on Kovalev's frustration at losing the first fight.

"Kovalev believes everything he's saying, he believes he was robbed and that it was an injustice," commented the American, who is 31-0 as a pro. "He believes all of that.

"I've got to change his mind in this fight and then the physical part will follow.

"I want him angry, I want him steaming, because I'm going to be a surgeon in there. That's what's going to get it done."

Ward, who beat class acts such as Carl Froch, Arthur Abraham and Mikkel Kessler during his time in the super-middleweight division, is 41/50 to prevail on points and 9/1 to get the job done inside the distance.

Kovalev suffered the first defeat of his 32-fight career in the paid ranks when narrowly edged out last time.

A short, sharp punch had put Ward down in the second round, but 'Krusher' struggled to catch up with his more technically-gifted foe in the second half of the contest.

However, the 13/10 underdog defiantly declared: "He knows that he lost. I don't like this guy and I want to punish him because he puts his nose really up right now.

"I want to destroy him. I want to destroy this guy as a boxer, as a champion. For me, he is not a champion, he's a fake champion."

The Russian can be backed at 4/1 to stop Ward and is 11/4 to be on the right end of a points verdict this time, with 18/1 for a draw sure to tempt some speculative punters.
